Nebraska Transition Vision Statement

Nebraska Transition age students will have an individualized transition plan driven by the student's voice and purpose through intentional connection, communication, and collaboration between:
  • Students
  • Families
  • Schools and
  • Community partners
Students will have purposeful and inclusive opportunities to develop awareness, understanding, and exploration of post-secondary opportunities in employment, education, independent living, and community involvement. These opportunities will be based in:
  • Sound and accurate data
  • Appropriate resources and tools
  • Authentic experiences

These student focused opportunities will prepare individuals to pursue learning, earning, and living by advocating, contributing, and engaging in their communities.
