Inviting outside agencies to the IEP meeting

Teachers and families should be aware of what agencies aid in providing
transition services.

An outside agency should be invited to your child’s IEP so they can provide input and suggestions during the meeting. They can assist in goal setting, connecting to community resources, job opportunities, and discuss options about college.

A parent is allowed to decline an outside agency to join the IEP meeting. Vocational Rehabilitation is the agency most school districts in Nebraska work
with during transition times for a child.
